AOL HOME

A new channel dedicated to the ever-growing business of DIY and interior design, became a unique and challenging project for me and the team I worked with. I was given the opportunity to create, utilize, repurpose, and refine the CSS for the entire channel. This was a first for a designer to take on, and has really allowed me to prove my skills. With this process, rather than handing off designs to deveopers, we were able to combine the design and front-end development steps, while allowing the web techs to support us by building the framework necessary to complete my part. The result saved weeks of back-and-forth communication to move pixels, hours of spec’ing out designs, and a much more solid product at launch time. As happy I was to solely handle the CSS, I was also able to work on a few comps which are depicted below. I’m proud of the site, and feel it’s one of the few projects I can say the live site looks the way it was intended to! Please check it out at home.aol.com.

AOL BODY/AOL HEALTH

Since launch, AOL Health (Formerly AOL Body) continues to gain in popularity, currently residing between the #3 and 4 position for top health sites. Newly dedicated to the channel in December of 2006, I had the opportunity to work on the original concepts for the site. Today I handle most of the CSS upkeep, and make sure things are looking right as well as designing the numerous features for the channel.

CITYGUIDE

While working on Cityguide for 9 months, I aided in the transition of the channel into the AOL publishing platform. During this time I provided comps of section pages, headers, and modules as well as detailed guides and specs for the construction of the new site.
