YES YES YES. Last weekend Margaux, my sis Sarah, and her boyfriend Byron, went up to Mansfield, MA to see the amazingly talented and still one of my favorite contemporary acts Nine Inch Nails! Let me say, the concert was a great experience. First of all, Peaches, one of M’s faves played first and we got there just in time to see her. She did a really fun performance that was unfortunately short. Bauhaus was next, and though I don’t listen to them for some strange reason, they are part of originators of industrial. A great show by them as well.
On to NIN! These guys were in top form, full of energy and totally enjoyable from start to finish. The visuals were amazing, using screens in back AND front of the band in which not only the screens interacted with each other, so did the band. The best part for me was the sheer amount of old songs they played! I mean, wow! Pretty Hate Machine and Broken got top prize for the night it seemed. Of course some greats off of Downward Spiral like March of the Pigs, Closer, Hurt… and some greats off of Fragile as well. But seriously, this was a night of old school, with only 4-5 new songs (one I didn’t quite recognize, new?). They played, and played hard. Like Trent was 26 again! Oh man. Good times.
The rest of the weekend was enjoyable, going up to Boston to rock around on Saturday, checked out a gallery, and did some bowling (it was a rainy day). And got some wonderful seafood. All in all, very enjoyable.

Check out this sweet concept for a new OS GUI, bringing familiar real-world concepts to your virtual desktop. I am very impressed with it beauty and functionality, but think it’d probably require a bit of a learning curve and much time getting used to such an odd way to see things after years of looking at such OS’s as Apple’s and that other (evil) company. Right. Kinda interesting to think that at some point our ‘virtual’ ways become more realty than our real ‘reality.’ Hmm… does that make sense? Another words, even though we’re all so used to real desktops and filing them with crap, staplers, those goofy lil items you get as stocking-stuffers, junk mail, etc.; our virtual desktops just become an extension of that, in a very 2D way. I personally find it easier to organize in 2D, if you saw my desk you’d know what I mean! Anyway, check out the site: BumpTop Prototype

It was a rather crazy weekend, but I won’t digress into the big story. However I will tell you a lil about one part of the weekend, as Margaux and I beared the 90 degree weather and checked out the Renegade Craft Fair at McCarren Park this weekend!
And I must say wow! It was a fun time. There were all sorts of great venders, and though many tend to lean towards the usual new-wave craft book of imagery, there were some quite impressive work as well. We indulged a bit with a couple new shirts for myself and a new handbag for M, along with a couple smaller accessories.
I wish I could remember the name of that vender, I will look it up on the shirts back home. However, for more info, check out Renegade Craft Fair
Also, one of my favorite vendors, though I yet to buy something from them, is at: Steel Toe Studios Check out their belts! Really pretty darn sweet, eh-hrm, if anyone needs to get me a gift…
Enjoy!

This is by far the coolest discovery I have heard about in a while. A blood-red rain in India, that could possibly be extraterrestrial! What kind of clues does this give us? It’s all very intriguing to me. You can’t live in this world thinking we’re the only world with life on it, that just doesn’t add up. Billions of stars, all could possibly have planets circling them, with the possibility that life is on those planets. Pretty wild. Check out the article here: Is It Raining Aliens?

After a long week of moving, last night we have finally finished! The last phase included bringing various items back upstate, and bringing the cats downstate. It was a long car ride, with some unhappy customers, but all in all it went ok. Time to take some much needed time to relax. The apartment is coming together quite nicely, and the cats have settled in impressively so from what it seems!
