‘Bushie, Bushie.”

So Pres Bush finally found himself some fans, in a little country called Albania. How cute. Maybe he can go rule them for a while after he’s done destroying the US. Then we’ll see how many fans he has left.

From NY Times:

When Bush arrived for his brief visit, the hills overlooking the capital boomed as military cannons fired a 21-gun salute, and thousands gathered in a downtown square on a brilliantly sunny day to see him and first lady Laura Bush.

Huge banners proclaimed ”Proud to be Partners” and billboards said ”President Bush in Albania Making History.” Red-white-and-blue paper top hats with stars on top were distributed to well-wishers.

Albania also issued three postage stamps with Bush’s picture and the Statue of Liberty, and renamed a street in front of parliament in his honor.

Berisha said the visit was historic. ”Among us is the greatest and most distinguished guest we have ever had in all times, the president of the United States of America, the leading country of the free world,” he said.

Bush said he was proud to be the first sitting president to visit. ”I love to come to countries that are working hard to establish the institutions necessary for a democracy to survive,” he said.

People waiting on the sidewalks behind yellow police tape gave him a boisterous welcome, shouting ”Bushie, Bushie.” He was practically manhandled as he shook hands along the line. Albanians reached out and embraced him, grabbing at his arms, shoulders and head, mussing his hair as Secret Service agents held him by the waist from behind.

Apology

Wow, nice to know these states are making the apology to slavery ‘official.’ Firstly, why is there an official vote for an apology? And second, I wonder what the percentage of apologetic people is in those states. It shouldn’t just be about the southern states though, this whole country is to blame for slavery. Perhaps we can make that ‘official’ too. Now that we took care of centuries-old issues, let’s deal with the ones we have now. Such as not taking care of people laid-off in towns that survived previously because of one company (think GM, Ford, Chevy, etc), who up and left the town to rot. That might be a nice jesture.

A big middle, er… thumbs up to the Boston Bomb Squad.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Ad
Paranoia sets in, a bomb squad is on the scene, a tv station is overhyping, an Attorney General is getting even, a city is at a stand still. Big thanks to the Prez for instilling fear into every human in this country, and letting some of his stupidity rub off on our authorities. His incompetitence isn’t his problem however, it’s the problem of a couple of guys who ‘masterminded’ the campaign. Thanks for trying to get these two locked up, without them the morons of Boston will be better off. PHEW! Disaster averted.

Christians Strike Again

OK I know I must seem to bring this topic up over and over, but nothing ruffles my feathers more than the fanaticals that break church and state. This time it’s happened TWICE in NJ. First, read the NY Times Article: Talk in Class Turns to God, Setting Off Public Debate on Rights And then check out the latest This American Life podcast about a Muslim family dealing with teachers blaming the Muslims for 9/11. This shit needs to stop, seriously. Our country doesn’t seem to get the fact that we are supposed to pride ourselves on ‘freedom of religion’ even if it was set up by Puritans in the 1700’s. People should not be suffering or dealing with the pressures of religion whilst learning in public schools, and should certainly not be dealing with ridicules from classmates because one teacher blames that child’s religion on terrorism. One teacher’s foul-play in school has led to the destruction of a whole family, who wasn’t even fully devout to their Muslim religion!

TOLERANCE should be the Christain way, ever think that telling people they are going to hell because they don’t believe in Jesus isn’t a tad hipocritical to your own beliefs? I’m not very religious, but I believe in some kind of power, perhaps the Force (It may seem like pure geekery, but George Lucas bases his thoughts on all religions, a beautiful way to reveal the world to other religions and cultures without casting them to eternal damnation for having different beliefs). Seems apropriate for this to happen around Christmas, but it’s an ever increasing problem that causes more hate than love. The thing is, if you’re preachings are forced upon others, I have a feeling I may just see you in Hell as well. Silly fools.

Future By Design

“Imagine a world where war is outdated, there is no shortage of resources, and every human being enjoys a high standard of living.” -JACQUE FRESCO

A genious in the design of future cities, societies, the natural world, transportation, etc. Below is one clip about humans taking responsibility instead of believing a deity or government should have the power to control what happens on earth. Very forward-thinking, perfectly states my own feelings, of course he’s much more thorough than I could ever be. ;-) Also check out: Future By Design: The Movie

Terminator’s Pissed

Good ole Arnie is stating that ‘we don’t have great leadership’ referring to Bush (Big surprise there). Here’s the kicker, it’s because Bush hasn’t stepped up to the plate on Global Warming…

Cue… Evil… Laughter!!!!!

Are you kidding me Arnie? You were the first to buy a consumer Hummer when they came out!! Did you forget? Or are you trying to please Cali? I certainly don’t blame you for jumping on the bandwagon against Bush, but at least have some dignity. Damn politicians in this country. We need smart leaders and honest people to run this country, or despite all our great businesses and technology, politics and ‘Democracy’ will be the ruination. Alas. That’s my opinion for today. ;)
