Nope, he’s not a Jack. But he’s pretty damn hilarious when he gets into things, especially this box that he dove head first into a couple times only to knock it over! Classic.

Smashed up my sanity

YES YES YES. Last weekend Margaux, my sis Sarah, and her boyfriend Byron, went up to Mansfield, MA to see the amazingly talented and still one of my favorite contemporary acts Nine Inch Nails! Let me say, the concert was a great experience. First of all, Peaches, one of M’s faves played first and we got there just in time to see her. She did a really fun performance that was unfortunately short. Bauhaus was next, and though I don’t listen to them for some strange reason, they are part of originators of industrial. A great show by them as well.

On to NIN! These guys were in top form, full of energy and totally enjoyable from start to finish. The visuals were amazing, using screens in back AND front of the band in which not only the screens interacted with each other, so did the band. The best part for me was the sheer amount of old songs they played! I mean, wow! Pretty Hate Machine and Broken got top prize for the night it seemed. Of course some greats off of Downward Spiral like March of the Pigs, Closer, Hurt… and some greats off of Fragile as well. But seriously, this was a night of old school, with only 4-5 new songs (one I didn’t quite recognize, new?). They played, and played hard. Like Trent was 26 again! Oh man. Good times.

The rest of the weekend was enjoyable, going up to Boston to rock around on Saturday, checked out a gallery, and did some bowling (it was a rainy day). And got some wonderful seafood. All in all, very enjoyable.

One Helluva Weekend

It was a rather crazy weekend, but I won’t digress into the big story. However I will tell you a lil about one part of the weekend, as Margaux and I beared the 90 degree weather and checked out the Renegade Craft Fair at McCarren Park this weekend!

And I must say wow! It was a fun time. There were all sorts of great venders, and though many tend to lean towards the usual new-wave craft book of imagery, there were some quite impressive work as well. We indulged a bit with a couple new shirts for myself and a new handbag for M, along with a couple smaller accessories.

I wish I could remember the name of that vender, I will look it up on the shirts back home. However, for more info, check out Renegade Craft Fair

Also, one of my favorite vendors, though I yet to buy something from them, is at: Steel Toe Studios Check out their belts! Really pretty darn sweet, eh-hrm, if anyone needs to get me a gift… ;) Enjoy!

Phase 3 Completed!

After a long week of moving, last night we have finally finished! The last phase included bringing various items back upstate, and bringing the cats downstate. It was a long car ride, with some unhappy customers, but all in all it went ok. Time to take some much needed time to relax. The apartment is coming together quite nicely, and the cats have settled in impressively so from what it seems!

Murphy’s

Law. Ack. So the big move officially starts on Saturday, perhaps as early as tomorrow if all goes well with the acquisition of the key. However, one other thing may stop me, that is my back. Yes, that’s right. A little moving at the beginning of this week and my back decides to stick it to me. My lower left back, to be more accurate. Alas. I am doing everything in my power to get it better, and hope that it will pass by tomorrow. We shall see. Just felt like complaining. Thanks for listening. ;-)

The new digs

Lil over a week left before the big move! Here’s a few views. Top one wth me is the kitchen, the one below is the bedroom, and below that with the windows is part of the living room (this is essentially the area where my desk will reside). Pretty damn sweet! Very excited, can’t wait to have it all worked out.

I’d like to thank…

(Originally the pic of me and an Emmy in my hand)

The academy and my family, my lovely girlfriend even though we didn’t know each other then, Trent Reznor for his cool-looking CD covers that got me interested in design, Digby’s coffee for getting me through the 1AM late nighters during June ’05, my peeps at AOL, and Matchless in Brooklyn for all the beers that were needed after 80 hour weeks! YES! THIS IS A REAL EMMY FOR LIVE 8! And yes, 5 million people saw my design work that fateful day on July 2nd, 2005. I’d say it was worth it, you?!
